Terms of Use and Sale

Last updated: August 19, 2026

1. Purpose

These terms govern the use of the Twinko platform (the "Service"), an artificial-intelligence-powered tutoring service intended for children aged 6 to 12, as well as the paid subscription that grants access to it. By creating an account, you accept these terms.

2. Parent and child accounts

Only a parent or legal guardian may create an account on Twinko. A child's account is created and linked by the parent, who remains responsible for it: the accuracy of the information provided, supervision of its use, and the child's compliance with these terms.

3. Subscription and billing

Twinko offers a free plan (Discovery, with a limited daily time allowance) and paid plans (Family, Premium) billed on a recurring basis (monthly, unless otherwise stated) through our payment partner, Stripe. Renewal is automatic until cancellation.

4. Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time, in one click, from your Subscription area — no email or phone request is needed, and no minimum commitment period applies. Access to paid features remains active until the end of the period already paid for, after which the account automatically reverts to the free Discovery plan.

5. Refund policy

Amounts already billed for the current subscription period are not refundable on a prorated basis in the event of cancellation during that period — you retain access until the end of the period rather than receiving a refund. If you believe you were billed in error, please write to us at contact@twinko.ca — we review each situation on a case-by-case basis.

6. Acceptable use

Twinko must be used for educational purposes, by the children for whom an account has been created. It is prohibited to attempt to circumvent the Service's limits, to disrupt its operation, or to use it for purposes other than learning.

7. Prof Twinko is a learning aid, not a teacher

Prof Twinko is an interactive educational assistant generated by artificial intelligence, designed to spark curiosity and support the child with homework. Like any AI, it can occasionally make mistakes or give an imperfect explanation.

Prof Twinko does not replace a qualified teacher, an official school curriculum, or the oversight and judgment of a parent. We encourage parents to stay involved in their child's learning and to verify important concepts.

8. Intellectual property

The content, design, the Twinko brand, and the Prof Twinko character belong to Twinko. Lessons and exercises generated for your child may be viewed and used as part of their learning but may not be redistributed or resold.

9. Limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is." To the extent permitted by law, Twinko cannot be held liable for decisions made solely on the basis of responses generated by artificial intelligence, nor for temporary service interruptions related to our technical providers.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate an account for non-compliance with these terms, or for abusive use of the Service. A parent may request the permanent closure of their account and their child's account at any time (see our Privacy Policy).

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.

12. Changes

We may modify these terms to reflect changes to the Service. Significant changes will be communicated to parents by email before they take effect.
